Welcome to the Gaylord Silly Fanclub

This blog is inspired by, and dedicated to, the Seychelles’ premier athlete, Gaylord Silly.

For those of you unaware of Gaylord, here are a couple of pictures of him competing in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh.

Gaylord finished in 163rd place. Finishing in a time of 43 minutes and 3 seconds. A very respectable result, considering that this is the first time Gaylord has competed at this level.
You can view the official result here.
The race was won by Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele, in a time of 34 minutes 38 seconds. Somewhat of a triumph itself, as he had one of his shoes knocked off in the middle of the race and dropped to 40th place in the process of putting it back on. He won though, and his name is comparatively dull.
I would mention the women’s race, however, I missed this completely. I spent the whole race standing in the queue for coffee. The coffee was good, the pain au chocolat was average.
